Jeremy Parrish


Jeremy joined the CAIM Board in April 2017

Jeremy joined in 2017 as Chairman of the Board of Crown Agents Bank and Crown Agents Investment Management following a near 40 year career in international banking. During his career Jeremy held numerous senior positions at Standard Chartered plc, including Global Head of Financial Institutions, Regional Head of Wholesale client relationships Europe,  CEO Japan, CEO UAE and CEO Switzerland. He has deep first-hand knowledge of many of the markets where both companies operate. He also brings extensive understanding of the principal products and services we offer. Additionally he has worked closely with Banking and Asset Management regulators in several jurisdictions, including both the UK’s Prudential Regulation Authority and Financial Conduct Authority.

Jeremy also serves as an independent NED at Julius Baer International Ltd in London and Chairs their Risk and Audit Committee. He also acts as Chairman of the Trustees of The Challenger Trust, a U.K. registered charity helping underprivileged children prepare themselves for the workplace. He also works closely with Deloitte LLC as an advisor in the Financial Advisory division.

Jennifer Johnson-Calari

Independent Non-Executive Director

Jennifer joined the CAIM Board in July 2018

Jennifer created and led the World Bank’s Reserves Advisory and Management Program (RAMP), which is one of the world’s leading providers of consulting and capacity building services to public sector asset managers. In this capacity, she worked globally with central banks, national pension funds and sovereign wealth funds in strengthening governance and building investment management capacity. She contributed to setting global standards of best practice for the management of sovereign assets working with the IMF on the Reserves Management Guidelines and the ISWF’s “Santiago Principles”. Ms. Johnson-Calari is a contributing author to several books on sovereign wealth and central bank reserves management and has spoken widely on these topics at international conferences and central bank forums.

She began her career with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in international bank supervision before joining the World Bank. She has earned advanced degrees from the Harvard Business School (GMP, 2004) the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) (MA, 1981) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). She currently serves as a consultant to several official sector asset managers and think-tanks.

She has contributed to several books on the topic of portfolio and risk management and was a contributing author and editor of Sovereign Wealth Management.

She has earned advanced degrees from the Harvard Business School (GMP, 2004) the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) (MA, 1981) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Arnold Ekpe

Non-Executive Director

Arnold joined the CAIM Board in April 2016

Arnold Ekpe has more than 30 years of financial services experience including as the CEO of Ecobank International from 2005 to 2012 and as the managing director of United Bank of Africa from 2002 to 2004. While at Ecobank, he was responsible for setting up Ecobank Paris’s subsidiary, EBI S.A., which is a wholesale subsidiary of the Ecobank group approved by the Banque de France and focused on trade finance, correspondent banking, commodity financing, foreign exchange and cash management, with a representative office in London.

Arnold is chairman of SFRE, a Luxembourg registered and approved investment company focused on small banks serving the real economy and Chairman of Atlas Mara, a listed Africa focused banking group. He is the Honorary President of the Business Council for Africa, a UK registered institution that promotes business and investments in Africa. He also served as a board member of the Nigerian Sovereign Wealth Fund. Previously, he served as Vice Chairman of ADC (the German financial services holding group acquired by Atlas Mara) and head of Corporate and Structured Finance at Citibank London, 1991-1996. Arnold holds a First Class Honours Degree in Engineering from Manchester University and an MBA from Manchester Business School.

Simon Poole

Helios Investment Partners, Non-Executive Director

Simon joined the CAIM Board in April 2016

Simon brings to the board broad finance and administration experience across a range of businesses in numerous African countries.

Previously, Simon was a CFO with Intela Global Ltd.

Simon serves on the boards of Helios Towers Africa Limited, Vivo Energy Investments BV and Fawry Banking & Payment Technology Services Limited.

Albert Maasland

Non-Executive Director

Albert joined as CEO in February 2017, having served on the board as a Non-Executive Director. He stepped down as Group CEO in February 2021.

Albert served as CEO of Crown Agents Bank and Crown Agents Investment Management from February 2017 to February 2021. Prior to this, Albert served as CEO of KCG Europe Ltd, part of KCG Holdings Ltd where he was also Global Co-Head of Execution Services and Platforms. Prior to that, Albert was CEO and Head of International Business at Knight Capital Group Inc, overseeing European and Asian operations; CEO of Saxo Bank London and Chairman of Saxo Capital Markets; Global Head of Business Development, e-commerce at Standard Chartered Bank, Managing Director at Deutsche Bank and Global Head of Business Development at HSBC Market.

Roberts Grava

CEO – Crown Agents Investment Management

Roberts Grava is CEO of Crown Agents Investment Management. He brings over 25 years of global institutional asset management experience to the firm, having focused mainly on sovereign investment institutions and official sector investment issues.  He has held several senior roles in public and private sector institutions, including Head of Official Institutions, Institutional Solutions and Advisory and Managing Director, Fixed Income at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Head of Quantitative Strategies, Risk and Analytics and Engagement Manager, Reserves Advisory and Management Program (RAMP) at the World Bank.  Previously, he had spent 11 years as Chief Investment Officer, Head of Reserves Management and Market Operations and Member of the Executive Board at Latvijas Banka, the central bank of Latvia.

Chris Green

Chief Risk Officer

Chris joined as Chief Risk Officer and Head of Compliance in March 2020

Chris has 25 years of corporate financial services experience mainly in senior risk leadership roles. He joined from Royal Bank of Scotland where roles included: Head of Portfolio Management for Commercial Banking, Head of Commercial Credit, and Head of Risk for Business and Commercial Banking. Prior to that, he worked for GE Capital where he held Chief Risk Officer roles for several of their businesses both in France and EMEA.

Richard Hallett

Chief Financial Officer – Crown Agents Bank and Crown Agents Investment Management

Richard joined in June 2016

Richard Hallett is the Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of Crown Agents Bank and of Crown Agents Investment Management and a member of the Executive Committee and Board having joined in June 2016. Richard’s career spans more than 25 years in top tier financial services organisations with an extensive track record across the investment banking, commercial and retail banking sectors both regionally and globally.

Richard was formerly CFO of Barclays Africa and CFO of Absa Capital. Previous roles include UK & Europe CFO, Global Business Unit Controller at RBS, MD at Morgan Stanley
